Why do Americans insist on calling home 'England'? By the same token, I may start calling the USA 'California' instead.

I got into an interesting conversation a few years ago with an older American lady on a dinner cruise in Washington. I think we were both a bit squiffy but she started by asking if I'd watched William and Kate's wedding, we discussed that for a bit and then she asked whether I'd met Princess Diana. Well, when I was about 5 I'd gone with my mum to line the perimeter of our local park to watch her helicopter land before her and Prince Charles went to visit the local glass factories. OMG, this lady was lapping it up so I embellished the story somewhat it was the alcohol!

Last time, I got an Uber back to POR after dinner at Artist Point. I was chatting with the lady driver, all of a sudden she asks me "so, what race are you?". No one ever asked me that before in my life! I'm white/caucasian but I tan easily and after 10 days in Florida, I was definitely tanned. So when I told her I was caucasian she just looked at me in silence, not believing me. "I'm just tanned", I said. She replied it was a very desirable colour. Weird!

Might make it a bit more interesting... I enjoy the view from the Eye for the first quarter and then get a bit bored with it.

From our last WDW trip, overheard on the monorail.

A very annoyed American lady behind us, exasperatedly berating her son.

“Adam, this is your last warning. You will not have chocolate milk at any other restaurant on this trip. You have to ask people before you touch them. Most people don’t like having their armpits touched.”

Wow, I would love to know the story behind that little scene!

In the toilets at Disney Springs a very enthusiastic American Mum saying to her newly toilet trained toddler “ Good job Jessica, big poop!” followed by clapping.
Myself and step daughter were laughing so much we were crying. It’s now something we say to each other when in Disney and one of us comes out of a toilet.

We were in Universal years ago and popped in to the restaurant which is more or less where Moe's is now.

An american family had gone to the various counters to get their food and the Mum started to complain about her pasta.
She went back to the counter and in a very loud voice said 'I can't eat this pasta its too Italian'.

Needles to say we still laugh about it often
