I agree! Its so nice to get so much advice so quickly - was so anxious about posting yet everyone is so friendly and helpful. Not sure how to do signatures, emojis etc but hopefully will learn!. Thanks all for being so welcoming.

We flew UC last August and were in 6 A&K but I would prefer row 8 as the first two rows didn’t have overhead lockers and also felt we were forgotten a bit being so far forward. A couple of times the Flight Attendant was to bring me something but I never got it.

Some people prefer to sit in the seat behind each other rather than across the isle.

At the ruler bar along the top there is user cp, you can make changes there. I know the bit about signature etc is there but sorry can’t advise as someone on the Dibb did my signature.

When you are typing a message the similies etc are to the right and if you don’t see the one you want to add just click on the [more].

I've just done UC there and back and had 7a on the way there and 9k on the way back. 9 had more overhead space but felt a bit more public. 7 was nice and quiet. The lay flat on the way back was not comfortable as it was so flat (ended up lying on my side). I did find that I felt a lot better and actually went to AKL on the first day which I put down to 2 things: 1. almost no alcohol on the way there, 2. the extra space in UC which definitely made a difference wrt to puffy ankles (didn't have them). The flight back was shorter and you still don't get a huge amount of sleep time plus we had a fair bit of turbulence.

I'm awake! The pool is beckoning and a sun lounger is calling me

There is no real answer to which seats are the best as we all have different views and needs. There is no doubt seat 6 A and K are the most private and probably quieter. If I had a child on my lap I would pick them for the more enclosed feel.

We always opt for 8 and 9 A for the reasons already given, lockers, slightly wider aisle and also habit.
It is habit more than anything else as we nabbed a dirt cheap upgrade to UC for our Nov trip this week but 9 A had been taken
We could have had 8 and 9 K but have never sat that side of the aircraft

In the end we picked 7 and 8 A

To the point. They are all good seats and everything hinges on the price. A cheap price changes the seat from good to excellent!

Thanks for your response - we have 8a and 9a booked. I agree individuals have their own best seats but just wanted a guide from a seasoned UC traveller. Usually do premium but upgrade too good to miss!

OP / Mr Morrow

Can I ask what you paid to upgrade to UC? I’m not sure what a good price is? Thanks

I won't pay much more than £150 plus some Miles.

The least I have paid is £43+/- a few bob.

The bottom line to me is PE is very good anyhow. I'm not forking out an arm and a leg for UC albeit we do use it a lot.
