Like you, we have booked a Standard SUV with Alamo. Turnover of cars is pretty fast so there will always be more cars coming if the Standard SUV line is low or empty. If your not happy to wait, speak to an attendant, if they can't get you a car then I'm fairly sure they'll give you a complimentary upgrade to the next class (assuming they are available).
However, we fly out on the 4th next month, a busy day I would assume for car hire, but from previous experience, there is a constant flow of hire cars and I'm thinking we won't be hanging about too long! |

I had a Durango in 2015 from National in SFO in lieu of a Tahoe (they had none, well only the 2wd version) I needed 4wd to go to Yosemite at start of April (and It was needed too) - really liked it, did about 1000 miles in it, heated seats and steering wheel were most welcome too!

I did email Alamo for a list of the cars currently classed as standard SUV's and apart from the initial acknowledgement of the email - they haven't responded. Does anyone have the email of the manager at the Disney Car Care Centre or a similar way to get in touch directly, preferably in writing?

Hi Guys arrived today and basically our only option with Avis for cat s, Standard elite SUV were Nissan Pathfinders... asked for swap as even on the app the vehicle I could have changed mine to was the same car... approached the desk and was told I could wait for another vehicle coming in but could be an hour or so. However after I took the pathfinder its actually minted Inside with loads of toys... just not the prettiest of vehicles...

Can you take a photo of the sticker on the windscreen which details the class of car (4 letter code) it is or just type here for info and even the spec trim if you know it, ie is it a Rock Creek Edition if its high spec ?
thanks

Morning all. We also arrived last night and the standard line had about 8 or 9 cars in. A couple of jeeps and some Nissan’s and 2 GMC Acadias. We picked a gorgeous white one which was fully loaded and had a working sat Nav. Not sure if this is even a standard as it was huge. Got to the gate and when they went to check us out the tag runs out on the 30th June and hadn’t been renewed so we couldn’t have the car. I was really gutted as it was lovely. They took it away and luckily brought back an even better Acadia which seems to be a limited edition Denali model. Absolutely loaded and 8000 miles. I’ll try and send some pics over later. After arriving to an empty customs hall and waiting 5 mins for baggage it cost us another 30 mins but worth it as the car is fantastic.

Arrived yesterday off VS75 from Manchester and there was only 5 cars in the Alamo standard SUV row. There was basic spec (cloth seats!) Nissan Murano
& 2 Dodge Journeys, an uncomfortable looking Jeep Wrangleresque and a Ford Edge (Titanium). We had the Ford last year and were happy with it but would have liked something different. We hung around for about 10 minutes and whilst there was lots of full-size SUV'S coming in, the standards remained quiet so we took the Ford. I'm not sure if this thread has raised my awareness, but I'm positive the last few times and been the standard SUV row had been both fuller and more varied, |
