Called recently to upgrade from group S to group L. Was advised that they couldn't offer group L. They could however offer Group Z which sits in between the two at a cost of c£100... to them. So nice upgrade to a Tahoe and £100 in my bank account rather than theirs. Will perhaps leave it a few days and try to bump to an L from there!

If ba /avis have sold all their allocated stock from it won't be displayed.. I was advised this last year when I was stuck with a standard suv and the price for a group L was like 1000 more

We have fully paid our holiday with BA and our car rental looks like is has decreased by over £100. Is it worth ringing BA or is it too late now we have fully paid?

I got my refund after having paid in full. I found that different phone reps had different attitudes to how they would deal with this. So if you get a negative response. Worth trying again. 👍

We fly into FLL next week and originally paid for a group S. The link was showing an uplift of £116 to group L. He has just called and got the group L and a refund of £37. Even the girl in the call centre said this is a no brainer 🤣.

He asked if the same situation applied upgrading our seats to Club but alas this isn't the case.

I had no idea about this situation until half an hour ago so thank you, thank you

I'm really confused and can't work out if I'm doing something wrong or if I'm having really bad luck with the BA employees that I'm speaking to!

So I've checked on the manage my booking on Avisba website and our rental price is £629 for group F, (price for group F now £591) the price for group S is £734 tonight so £105 difference, when I've phoned up I'm quoted £200 to upgrade.
When I've queried it and said that our rental price was £629 she's said that's not what we've paid and to ignore that price and we got a really good price in the sale.
When I spoke to them yesterday was also quoted just over £200 to upgrade.
So am I doing something wrong?

Thank you so much for this post, having just checked prices I rang BA, I have upgraded from a group Z to a Group L and have got a £230 refund which is amazing!
