Travel sickness

Afternoon all

So my DS aged 26 suffers terribly with travel sickness and it seems to have worsened the older he gets I am looking for recommendations for travel sickness tablets for him, I already bought the anti sickness bands as well.
The last time he flew he passed out on a plane from Norway and at over 6 foot 3 he blocked a lot of the aisle off!

He is dreading flying and I am hoping to find him something that works.

Thanks in advance

Jane

Did he get medical attention when he passed out and what was the diagnosis? Passing out sounds like it could be more that just a sick stomach/nausea type travel sickness.

No he didn’t they just managed to wake him up. He has always been travel sick from being a baby, it seems to be worsening as he gets older regardless of the form of transport I’m afraid. He’s like if in the air on land and sea!

Is he a nervous flyer or purely travel sickness? I get motion sickness and get pills from the chemist which sort me out.

Also have a snack to line his tummy but avoid the heavy, creamy foods and take lemonade, water and salty crackers with him.

Hiya Jane - might be worth him having a chat with his Dr to see if they believe Buccastem could help - they sit on the gum and dissolve slowly, we find they work extremely well.

Ask your pharmacist or gp about scopoderm (may be spelled wrong) patches. They sit behind the ear and are supposed to be excellent.
Might need a prescription for them.

Concur, Scopoderm and Buccastem (both prescription meds) can help those unable to keep anything down, they enter via the blood stream.

Years ago hubby was terribly ill with the norovirus, he vomitted for circa 14 hours, couldn't keep owt down, not even water. Our Dr's last resort afore having him admitted to hospital was Buccastem, the relief was profound when they stopped him hurling.
