Our final day is 1st September. I am weighing up still getting it. Realise that it ends on the 31st. The website does state that there is a $10 fee for no return of the pass. I am assuming that it may not work for the 1st September. Could pay toll in cash for this day like we normally do.
Would this still work out better than a normal pass with Alamo considering the no return fee? We will be doing MCO to idrive for mostly Universal time in first week. Then moving to Windsor Hills. We are planning a day trip to clearwater. Not sure how many tolls would be involved in total. Edited at 08:38 AM. |

OK is this me having a blonde moment but how much does this visitor pass cost compared to a normal sun pass?
Also when you start the reservation do you put your UK address or the address you will be at in the US? |

I think the only way you will work that out is to determine how many days you will incur toll charges on and if you will reach the $19.75 max admin fee that Alamo will charge or if you will not reach that amount.
If you will reach $19.75 then I would opt for the new scheme, suck up the $10 'fine' and still be $9+ in pocket and pay cash on the last day. Lots of variables though

We are doing a road trip for some of the holiday to Washington and back. Should I pay cash for tolls while outside Florida and get this. We are renting with Hertz

We are booked with Alamo. Can someone explain the Alamo $19 charge to use the sun tolls. Is that a fee per day or for your whole rental period. If I use just 2 tolls a a day what would Alamo charge me per day. Thanks in advance

All explained in detail here.
Basically Alamo charge an admin fee of $3.95 every day you use Sunpass. However this fee has a maximum of $19.75 over the rental period. These fees are on top of the actual toll fees. sunpass/en/tolls/rentalVehicles.shtml Use Sunpass on three separate days they charge you $11.85. Use it on eight days and they charge the maximum $19.75. Mick

Don't think that we'd bother with it. We don't go out of our way to avoid tolls by any means but our two airport trips to Highgate on the 417 is about all we ever do. Around $4.50 each way and normally pay cash. If you see two septuagenarians moving like Usain Bolt from the monorail 4 down to the Alamo garage B that might be us. As soon as we've landed we like to be on our way and we always do online check-in to avoid the terminal desk. Mick
