Question for those who do stockings

On the mantle until Christmas Eve then on the end of their beds.
We do advent presents under a tree in their rooms & 24th is always Christmas PJ’s & Slippers, Special Hot chocolate, Christmas DVD, a Christmas book & then a joint Christmas themed game.
Stockings have fruit, chocolates, CD’s, DVD’s, jewellery, tech, books & other little things.
Under the lounge tree is our presents to each other, Dining room tree Presents from other family members & then Father Christmas leaves his presents either side of the fireplace for them.
When I was a child I opened my stocking whilst still in bed & started reading one of the books once I’d had a fiddle with everything else but my kids have always came running into our room with theirs & sit on our bed opening them .. lovely as eldest still does it too but we could really do with the lay in! 🤣

Once everyone is done we all traipse downstairs for the Santa gifts where all of them have the same number of gifts but never the same value!

We leave stockings downstairs as when kids were younger they didn’t like the thought of Father Christmas going upstairs. So stockings opened in the sitting room and that’s not changed even though they are now 15 and 19! Now for the controversial bit... that’s it till after lunch when we open under tree gifts from friends and family. We never said all gifts from Father Christmas as we wanted them to appreciate receiving and giving gifts to family etc. We like the day spaced out like this.

When the kids were little I had to work Christmas Day morning, told the kids they could open their pressies in the morning but they decided to wait until I was home so we finished up opening them at about 6pm, following year they chose to do the same again even though I wasn’t working that day, and that’s how we used to do it... late lunch and pressie opening after... me and DH still do the same now even though the kids have their own families now...
