In theory, Emma should not be worrying as she has a unconditional, but she wants to do well, so will still be stressing!

She was watching a YouTuber doing shopping for uni and told me how excited she is to do the same. She seems really excited to be going, but not sure if she is doing it for my benefit to try to show she is not worrying about it!
Georgia has three this week and two next week.

Georgia is enjoying picking things for her uni room but I know she is experiencing mixed feelings about moving away, part of her is excited about living in a city but a bigger part of her is very nervous about missing home and making friends. I think this is more stressful for her than the exams at the moment but she is just concentrating on the exams right now

Not gonna lie, this has been a horrible week for my DD. She's been so sad, really struggled to get motivated or focussed, knowing she needs to do it but not motivated to, so it became a vicious circle. On Thursday and Friday she broke down in tears with the weight of it all, even though on Friday she had started to pick up the revision again (not sure if that was making her feel worse though, making her feel like she didn't know anything and was running out of time to recall it).

She was better yesterday, she had a good productive day revising (I was around but gave her all the peace and quiet she wanted) and she was comfortable and pleased with the work she had done. I do think she'll manage much better back in college, where she can go to tutor revision classes when she doesn't have exams (4 this week!). I've decided to take some time off work midweek after this next week, so I can be around for her at home, for company more than anything else (and she might have some spare time that week as she only has one exam, to go shopping for bits and pieces for her holiday, which is the week after that).

Its all go, but we can only do the best we can (just like our young adults).

Best of luck to everyone!
I’m sorry your daughter has had a horrible week. It’s awful to see them so stressed out. I hope this week is better for her. Xx

Our exam post-mortem for today (thank you for the terminology!)

English -prose (Frankenstein/The Handmaids Tale) - "WENT REALLY WELL, ideal questions, just enough time to answer fully, I'm so happy - I'm off down the pub with my boyfriend, see you tomorrow..."

So nice to hear the joy...

(next exam is in 8 days so she can afford a little down time...)

good luck to everyone else!

Aw, that’s such good news. It’s such a relief when the right questions come up.

Hope she enjoys her down time tonight.

Good news about your DD’s English exam.

Georgia has just returned so the post mortem goes:

English really good as she managed to write about her favourite King Lear character and felt it went well

Biology was the hardest exam she’s ever done! But she can’t tell how it went as it’s all problem solving questions relating to things she has learnt, so she’s never sure if she has answered correctly or not. She did say it had too much maths in it. She has four exams this year for Biology though, plus her AS is counted towards it from last year so it’s impossible to gauge a grade really.

She’s just happy it’s two more exams out of the way 😀 Next one for her is her last psychology exam on Friday now, then two more exams next week

Exam post mortem - Ben was pleased how it went, his was on Frankenstein and Never Let Me Go. First question was great, second okay and third great so overall pleased.
His next exam is History on Wednesday, his sixth form says they have to go in for normal lessons which means he would have English Lit and Geography, I’ve told him not to bother and just revise for his History exam instead. One teacher was fine with this the other said he should go in as it’s sixth form policy!

Sounds like it has been a goodish day all round.

Cannot understand having to go in for normal lessons at this stage at all. Would also be advising using the time for revision.

Great news that Ben’s English exam went well too. Seems pointless going in for lessons now. Georgia’s college has said they can go in if they want or revise at home. As she has such a long bus journey to college, Georgia is only going in for exams. She can use the time she would be travelling wiser at home revising

Molly went in today for a maths revision session but it was optional. Molly wanted a little help with something she was struggling with on a revision paper and to take her tutor some cookies in for being so patient with her 😂

I do think maths is a subject that benefits from having it explained by a teacher so definitely worth going in for extra sessions for that. Although all the extra sessions in the world couldn’t improve my maths (non) skills 😀
