Transfer from jfk?
Hi,
I have booked a trip to new York in November for 3 nights - then moving on to Florida. Could anyone give me an idea of the best way to get from jfk to your accommodation. I am not sure whether to get a taxi at the airport or just book a transfer before hand. I would prefer to go overground as we could use it as a way to see more. If anyone would like to share their experiences I would be grateful |

assuming your staying in mahattan ? then its a fixed fare iirc $52 + tolls + tip @$70 to anywhere in the island
head straight out of the terminal to the taxi rank, inform the marshall of your detsination, you get a chit with the fixed fare on, in a taxi & off you go depending on time of day/traffic etc etc we have done it in 45 mins but also nearer 120 mins... its a gamble on the roads also used a shared Tx which was a pita as took ages going round other hotels first easiest way is a cab imo but not the cheapest which would be train/subway.. too much hassle for me as have bags/cases & will entail walking at the other end but loads will recommend it, havnt done it personally HTH |

We prebooked CarmelLimo online, which was around the same price as getting a cab when we arrived. Great service too.

I have asked a similar question recently - I think the cabs from JFK offer a fixed price to hotels in Manhatten - I'm sure it was around $50 each way but some one on here will be able to confirm that.
Or you could book group transfers through attraction tickets direct they are much cheaper.

Just join the taxi queue, really well organised and flat rate so you know how much you’re paying! We went straight to our hotel in Times Sq.
