Hawaii

Can anyone give me any information on Hawaii - which areas are best? Im looking for something similar to Cancun in Mexico. Also any hotel recommendations? Thanks

I have never been to Cancun, but we stayed in Waikiki beach - built up but still a beautiful beach with resorts and hotels and great shopping. There are tons of excursions to go on around the island (which has even better beaches outside Waikiki). We LOVED it, my the link to my trip report is below.

Maui is supposed to be beautiful too.

Stayed at the Aston Waikiki Beach hotel last October and it was lovely. Loved it in Hawaii and I would go back there tomorrow.
Pearl Harbour is a must, very interesting place to visit.
We took the local bus to Kailua Beach which was beautiful.
Did lots of shopping at the Ala Moana centre which has great shops and a really good food court.
