:) DS passed his driving test yesterday

Just shy of 6 months after his first test was cancelled (26th March) and more cancellations along the way, but he did it, and on the WDW anniversary as well

It became such a big thing because of how it dragged on with rebookings, further cancellations and difficulty booking on, instructors not knowing when they could teach again etc. all really added to the stress of it, poor lad was getting so nervous yesterday before it and I was a complete nervous wreck while he was out taking it!

He's done it though, so proud of him driving himself off to school this morning

That’s great news. My ds passed a couple of weeks ago after having to wait because of lockdown and I know what a nightmare it was to rebook. I must say I am a nervous wreck whenever he goes out on his own. We live in quite a rural location and the roads seem to attract the fastest drivers. It’s hard not to worry

Congratulations to your son also It is a worry, they're still our little boys. We're booking him a skid pan session so he can learn to control the car in a skid, be one less thing to worry about when he goes off in bad conditions!

Well done to your boy! 😁

I’ve not heard of skid pan sessions before, I’ll have to go and investigate. I considered an advanced driving course for dd before but not that.

My Dd passed in August after having her tests cancelled in March.

It was such a relief for all of us!

Congratulations to your DD also Yep certainly a huge relief!

There are a few places still offering these sessions, some have them on hold (including Silverstone) because of social distancing, we're going to have to drive for a couple of hours to get him to one but I think it's a really valuable skill for them to have.
