Thanks everyone! Yes we flew out on Friday morning. The weather is beautiful and it’s fairly quiet. Similar rules to home re masks and distancing but people seem to be more respectful than at home.
We all needed the break and change of scenery. We have had a few wobbles and a lot of emotion but it’s done us all the world of good so far.
I don’t travel lightly! We had 5 suitcases 😂 although we had a lot of stuff we brought for the villa.
This is the view from my bedroom at 7.30am Saturday (today’s view is the same of course!)

I don't know what's going on in your private life but sounds like this break was much needed. What a stunning view to wake up to... hope you manage to forget things even for a short while and you and your family have some lovely relaxing time making the most of it.

Thanks Julie. My husband died in April - he had a brain tumour. To say that last 18 months have been a nightmare is an understatement. Me and the kids just needed a break, some space and a bit of healing!

What a stupendous view. I find watching the sea very calming and the sea air somehow reinvigorating.

I hope you and your children have a lovely healing stay.

As an complete aside. If you are able to get out for a meal (I don't know what the restrictions are out there at the moment) I don't suppose you could have a steak on a stone for me could you? Have been dreaming about those since we came back from Tavira last year, or some fresh peri-peri chicken? I am not really a meat eater (prefer fish) but mmm mmm.
