You can buy in Waitrose a box with exact quantity of dry ingredients to make a Xmas cake, think you just need to buy eggs and butter. Really easy to make.

I make the buttered rum Christmas cake from the good food website. Always turns out well and the rum gives it a lovely flavour.

I use Delia’s or Mary’s and this year I found pre cut tin liners in my cupboard, I can’t remember when I bought them but they were perfect, saving all the faff of cutting my own.

I made a Xmas cake last Year for the first time in many years. I used the Delia Smith recipe and it was really simple and tasted delicious. DS19 loves Xmas cake and said it was far better than a shop bought one 🤣

I’ve always used Delia’s weights but mixed up the fruits a bit.
Always works well so I’d recommend Delia

I’ve also only ever used the Delia recipe, it’s always worked well and the family enjoy it. I’ve been tempered to try other but don’t want a disastrous cake🤣
