Late Hotel Check-In
Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows the general rule when it comes to checking into a hotel in the evening? How late is too late for example. Most hotels do not advertise check in times other than when you can first check in. Just wanted some opinions and experiences I guess. Was hoping to go to US/IOA for the entire day, grab my bags from bell services and swing over to my new hotel and check in, realistically about 8/9pm. Thank you. |

all hotels will have a cut off time, you will need to contact the hotel you will be staying at to confirm what the time is as it may vary from hotel to hotel

One year we checked into our Disney hotel at 1am, I had checked in on line and noted that we would be arriving late (though it wasn’t supposed to be quite that late). You could email the hotel beforehand to let them know.

8/9pm certainly isn't a late check-in, in my opinion. If you are worried, just drop the hotel an email or call them so they can note your booking and it should be no problem in the case of all the big hotel chains. The room will have been prepared for the normal check-in start time, so will be ready. Reception is invariably 24/7 so they should be able to check you in anytime.
Orlando airport is open 24/7, so all the hotels in the Orlando area must be used to having guests arrive at all hours. In addition to tourism, Orlando is a huge convention destination, so all the hotels will be used to having guests arrive at all sorts of hours. |

How bout checking in really early to make use of the perks?
We did this and returned at the end of the day to go to our room. |

If I was expecting to arrive after 10pm I would always tell the hotel in advance !
I would not be worried about 8/9 pm. |

If it's a Disney hotel you should be fine.
Thanks to our transatlantic flight leaving late, then an aborted landing at MCO, followed by a go around & then being the last drop off on the Magical Express, we turned up at the Yacht Club last year at 10:45pm & there was no problem. If however you know that your going to be turning up late I would suggest that you drop the hotel an e-mail or call them.

We got to CSR one year at 1.30am due to a massive flight delay. There was no problem checking in but the room allocation was not to my preference, and at that time of day (?) there wasn’t anything else available.
