Pandemic really impacting on availability

As some may know I book 1 beds and usually stay where I want. Usually no issues getting Boardwalk, Beach Club often etc. Xmas 2019 we did 5 nights Boardwalk, 5 nights BLT.

Well we knew there would be a glut of unused points and I’m seeing that effect. Even looking now (still 8 weeks off the 7 month window) the one beds are booking up in the weeks before Christmas. This would usually be unheard of.

No issues as I’ve got SSR booked, but thought I’d give people the heads up.

It will be better maybe in 2022 but I expect we won’t see a real return to normality until 2023.

That’s good the know. Thank you. I was going to book ours at 11 months for Dec 22, usually wouldn’t be a rush as we need a 1 bed in a quiet time. But I’ll hop on straight away and book when I can.

We've already got Copper Creek locked down for last couple of days in Nov and first week in Dec.

Looking to swap out a couple of nights at other resorts but availability looking very patchy. Those glut of banked points has had a huge effect added tot he demand for the 50th.

To be expected, I guess. Makes their decision to limit 50% borrowing from following UY easier to understand (while it being quite annoying for some scenarios!)

I guess it was inevitable and just highlights the advice to buy where you're happy staying, I was given that advice in 2002 and have always stood by it.

We'd hoped to move in October to the Treehouses from BCV but even they're not available around the anniversary for our entire stay. We had hoped for a resort stay & I didn't want to be at BCV and not going into the parks, far too frustrating to have F&W on our doorstep. Tickets it is then

Absolutely this. We love bay lake, I know my son will adore the monorail. But I’d switch to animal kingdom lodge for part of the trip if it was available.

Totally agree, I love BLT and ALK and tend to stay at both most trips with a few nights at another resort if we fancy a change. I know some advocate buying the cheapest points and swapping to different resorts at 7 months but I personally wouldn't want to be stuck in a resort I did really like.

This makes me nervous. I'm not ready to bail on August yet, but will I find I can't get anything for whenever me move it to. Also the same with flights. Difficult to know when/if to make the change.
