I have just booked with Norwegian for December 2022 can’t wait
Unfortunately the CDC has extended the no cruise ban until Nov 1st from American Ports this evening ☹️ Back in November that the CDC first issued its "Framework," requiring that cruise lines do the following before letting any passengers get back on board their ships: Prepare "adequate health and safety protections for crew members" Set up "laboratory capacity to test future passengers" Conduct a series of "simulated voyages" Obtain "COVID-19 Conditional Sailing Certificates" Only then could the cruise lines resume sailing out of U.S. ports. Since then, it's been mostly crickets from the CDC, and no "Conditional Sailing Certificates" have actually been issued Major cruise line stocks -- Carnival (CCL) - Get Report Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL) - Get Report and Norwegian Cruise Line (NCLH) - Get Report -- fell Wednesday after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the ban on U.S. cruises until Nov. 1 is still in place. Carnival recently traded at $24.90, down 1.7%; Royal Caribbean at $83.25, down 0.8%; and Norwegian at $25.97, down 2.4% Meanwhile, the Cruise Lines International Association, which represents 95% of global ocean-going cruise capacity, on Wednesday urged the CDC to allow a phased resumption of cruise operations from U.S. ports by July 1. “The early-July timeframe is in line with President Biden’s forecast for when the U.S. will be ‘closer to normal,’” CLIA said in a statement. “Over the past eight months, a highly controlled resumption of cruising has continued in Europe, Asia, and the South Pacific -- with nearly 400,000 passengers sailing to date in more than 10 major cruise markets,” the group’s president, Kelly Craighead, said. .

Yes, definitely will cruise again. We’ve done about 45 cruises and got four booked!

The no-sail order hasn't been extended, it simply "remains unchanged" at this present time. A quote from the CDC:
"Returning to passenger cruising is a phased approach to mitigate the risk of spreading COVID-19. Details for the next phase of the CSO are currently under interagency review." |

Yes, love it. We’ve had our September P&O cruise cancelled twice now, and rebooked for Sept 2022. However, we racked up so much future cruise credit we were able to upgrade to a suite!

Absolutely! I love cruising and can’t wait to get back to normal and book another cruise.

Without question we will cruise again! We have a P&O Cruise booked in October and a Marella Discovery cruise in June 2022. Prices have gone through the roof. Our Tui cruise has been cancelled twice and the price has increased >30% in 2 years. I can’t fault the cruise lines who have to repay the billions they’ve borrowed to stay afloat 😬 Demand is likely to outstrip supply for the next couple of years, but i suspect it will be 2022 before things get back to normal.

It’s a Conditional Sail Order rather than a ban. This replaced the no sail order on October 30 last year.
This means that the CDC could conditionally allow sailing in NA, but they still need to give more guidance to the cruise lines before they can begin test cruises. Once cruise lines have successfully completed test cruises each ship must apply for a certificate to cruise which can take 60 days. Increasingly brands are requiring crew and passengers to be vaccinated. This makes a lot of sense to me. |
