We stayed at Carousel and had a lovely walk around 5am from there over to a deserted Springs whilst the sun rose, it's really not that far.

I guess if you struggle with walking or really don't enjoy it that it could be viewed as long enough to be off putting, but for an able bodied person who's happy walking, it's very doable.

Staying in The Paddock is close to the walk to DS.

I think it depends:
Bottom end of Paddock is close to CP bus stop, so a couple of minutes difference
Top end is closer to the Springs so just as long & neither of these 2 are close
Grandstand is furthest but not if you take the boat so whilst it saves walking it may take longer time wise.

The distance of walking at SSR is often greatly over exaggerated, mainly by Americans. For most British used to walking about its really nothing more than a pleasant stroll.

Agreed, we have stayed right near the Paddock Pool and walked to DS frequently. It's a really pleasant early morning/evening stroll. Wouldn't do it middle of the day, could be a bit warm...!

No matter which area of SSR you stay in it will not be more than a 20-30 min walk all on the flat & it really is a pretty walk, we love it
