Will amending car hire dates hike the price?

Hi

I have car hire booked for 1st September with Hertz (pay at location). Does anyone know if I amend the dates by a few days if our flight gets pushed back, am I going to get hit by the price hike? The car I have booked has certainly more than doubled in price since I booked it.

I am nervous to try it out online first just in case!

If anyone has any info or experience on this I would be very grateful to hear. Thank you.

Hiya WM, is your 'pay at location' price locked in? If not it may be Hertz charge the rate on the day. Before you alter, email HERE for DFCH website. Based on his rates you could move your Hertz dates for an updated price or cancel and join the large number of Dibbers who book via Andy [also offers free SatNav].

I'm not sure if it is locked in. Any idea how I could check this? Imagine if they charged me the new rate on pick up that would not start the holiday off great.

Hertz pay at location prices are fixed and confirmed in your booking confirmation and can be viewed on your reservation in your online account.

Any changes are recalculated at current rates. To check what this might be try a new booking as a guest.

Windy, as Dr J has given you the low down I'd defo be asking Andy and trying a mock Hertz booking with different dates, ensure you're sitting down first tho

Thank you both. I will leave the booking as it is and if we have to change flights I will definitely contact Andy.

I have just run a new dummy booking for same dates its for 28 days and it has gone up $2500! Wow! Won't be amending that booking!

I had to amend my May boking by a few days and my £320 pay at location rate went to £2000! Andy at DFCH managed to get it for about 600 - which is still crazy and I hope may go down before arrival but if not I will just have to pay it

I haven’t booked yet but yes Andy came back after sending my email nd his price was £400 cheaper than online. Haven’t booked flights yet so reluctant to order but to date his customer service has been brilliant!

Hiya Fee, as Andy doesn't take any payment up front, and reduces if the car supplier prices does, you can always set up a booking knowing, due to his customer service, it's easy to change, hassle free
