First time for me!
And weirdly it’s appealed to me more this year due to the reduced numbers as it always looks so busy!

I had success with salad leaves, carrots and mini cucumbers my first year in a raised bed
I found the second year was a disaster, I think it’s something to do with the nutrients in the soil

Don’t forget to feed your soil.
Peas and beans grow well in raised beds, as do tomatoes, onions, all different types of salad. Try interplanting some marigolds with whatever you decide to grow, keeps some of the bugs away (google will tell you others)
Try infusing boiling water with garlic, leave to cool, then use it as a bug spray... just don’t get it on yourself, else you’ll stink 😀

Another gardener here. I belong to our local gardening group on Facebook, for answering questions and exchanging plants, cuttings etc.

I also like the Gardeners World forum - some people have encyclopaedic knowledge of plants and growing and very generously share with the rest of us.

I desperately need help with gardening! We try our best, planting wise think we have just about got there but our grass is a nightmare!
We have laid new grass twice now and it looks great for a couple months but then just dies off. At the moment it’s more mud than grass, just don’t know what to try next.

I was out in my garden last Saturday as I got a maintenance free garden I only had to pull up some weeds and clean out the water feature I built last year during the 1st lockdown.

Very novice gardeners here, I bought my DH a Vegtrug for Christmas 2018, so this will be his third year. Our favourites have been salad leaves and spinach, pak Choi, Kohlrabi and shallots. Things we like to cook with and so convenient to have a fresh supply throughout the summer.
We also have some potato pots, I love our little crop of potatoes. We made a mistake with carrots, (fancy variety) we tried to grow them in the trug, but the compost was too soft, apparently carrots like proper garden soil. So ours were a bit spindly, but tasted nice. We have a little bed planned for them this year.
Last year I bought DH a seed pantry subscription we tried some nice variety’s of different things because of that.
Looking forward to seeing the garden come to life again this year.
