It feels unreal seeing it in person. I felt like we were looking at some beautiful painting which looked too perfect?
I'm glad we stayed on the valley floor i couldn't imagine driving in every day it would've took ages and what a pain too. I hope the kids don't forget I know I won't. Thanks for reading along xx |

After seeing yesterday's Death Valley photos, I thought they couldn't be topped. But oh my, those views in Yosemite The whole place is absolutely stunning. Your cabin looks basic but clean. I think I would also prefer these to a tent (I refer to Alicia's camping adventures there) I'm so enjoying this report Julia, every day is better than the last!

How long actual driving time ( ignoring stops and the wrong turn extra time) would you reckon from bishop to Yosemite ?
I was looking at doing the same drive as you Was thinking originally of stopping in lone pine or big pine rather then bishop to get more time in Death Valley the previous day , but of course that would mean a longer drive to Yosemite And was hoping to do some sightseeing stops on the way from bishop - mono lake maybe or walking round tenaya lake , but just the drive seems to have taken you quite a while

I reckon without the stops to the entrance was around 1.5 hours? Then the drive to Yosemite Valley would take around the same time without stops to say somewhere like Bridalveil Falls, which you'll be close to when you enter the valley.
So maybe 3 to 3.5 hours or so? The drive through Death Valley took longer than we thought. That's the problem with everywhere you keep stopping off for walks etc |

Wow wow wow! What a day!
We haven't made it to Yosemite yet but it's definitely on the list and I'll definitely come to this report for places to stop at when I do! |
