Little tip re currency from Tesco

I learnt a valuable lesson today.

I went to Tesco to get some USD and they gave me a rate of $1.19 per £, when I came home and looked to order some more online for click and collect for when I get paid they are giving me a rate of $1.22 per £. It has cost me an extra £6 odd today by just turning up and buying it.

Yes, you often seem to get a better rate if you pre-order and then collect. I learnt that from using the Money Saving Expert travel money comparison tool, so I always pre-order now.

Find it the same with Ramsdens. Did ask last time I was in whether they would match the online rate which they would if I ordered £1000!

I've been checking rates over the last couple of days and tesco have the worst rate atm, John Lewis seemed to have the best. With TUi, TC and Post Office somewhere inbetween.
