Hotel at/near LAX?

Hello! Well flights are now booked for next summer

So my planning marathon can start properly...

We arrive into LAX at about 18:30 and I'd like to book an airport hotel for that night. Not sure if others would agree but my thinking is that with an 18:30 arrival it could be 20:30 before we're leaving the airport and heading off to the hotel. I think it would be a lot easier for my husband if he didn't have to drive that evening. If we stay at the airport he can have a couple of drinks in the airport or on the plane if he wants to and can start driving the next morning after a nights sleep, instead of totally exhausted and straight off the plane.

So, with that in mind does anyone have any recommendations for a hotel with a (free) airport shuttle? Hotel doesn't have to be fancy or exciting, just clean and (relatively) safe. Ideally with somewhere to get food nearby. And preferably cheap! Although I've learnt recently that cheap in California is not the same as cheap in my mind

There's quite a few near LAX with shuttle buses. Have stayed at the Hilton and Holiday Inn there's also a Westin near the airport.
A quick google of LAX hotels will give you the full list.

Thanks, I've found a few on hotels.com etc, it's just hard to choose and was wondering if anyone had a personal recommendation.

I can certainly recommend both the Hilton and Holiday Inn but it's just a place to sleep off the jet lag a 2 star motel would probably suffice.

Courtyard Marriott lax El Segundo. Fast food places nearby. Decent price when we stayed.
