Booking accommodation in LA help
So I’ve booked the most ridiculously cheap flights on a wim for May half term 7 of us for less than £1600 bonkers
However I’m struggling now with accommodation (book in haste and all that ) Has anyone booked through home away for a condo? Thinking probably just Anaheim possibly San Diego ? Oh god I’ve absolutely no clue...

I too was like you booked flights as they were cheap but then didn’t realise how vast and spread apart the state is. Don’t panic read the trip reports and scroll through on the threads as loads of ppl ask questions and give highs and lows and people here are super helpful. Any advice for San Diego post as Aims who is a local there will help you. SD was one of my favourites so that really is a must. I’ve booked through home away, owners Direct ect (not for California but other places). You will be fine how long are you going for and who was that with? Fab price just expect it to be dearer than Florida

Thank you 😊 we’ve been before but with only one child (16 years ago)and now we have 5. So I suspect things have changed somewhat, will start ploughing through the trip reports, feel like I’m going in blind. Can tell you anything about Orlando and Florida after nearly 20 trips but West Coast has me completely confused 🤷

Be careful in Anaheim short term rentals are ( or at least were you need to check ) illegal so houses , condos , Air bnb generally aren’t allowed .. that’s not to say you won’t fkndntjem advertised still though
There are suites in Anaheim though that might suit you However Anaheim is only a good base for Disney , if your doing other stuff too then a split stat is ankidtnimon. LA is 35 miles away and can easily take 2 hrs each way in traffic . |

Thanks that’s really useful. Ithink we’ve decided a couple of days in LA as like I said it’s been a while then 3-4 days Anaheim followed by San Diego. Not going to do Vegas as we do a grown ups trip once a year (we got married there so it’s an anniversary thing)
Is there any hotels that you’d recommend? Thanks again 😊😊😊

Awesome bargain! Who with?
Anaheim we stayed Hyatt House, walking distance to Disney and newish Not sure it would sleep 7 officially but had 2 queens plus big sofa bed in separate room San Diego we did 3 bedroom house HomeAway in Normal Heights. Not cheap but good to have some room for a few nights LA was Hilton Garden Inn Burbank, great location but you would need 2 rooms there |
