Excited about Disney

I would have thought the dolphin interaction would be the only reason to go to DC, what is the place without that other than an over-priced all inclusive water park without rides?

Oooh no, it's lovely! The Grand Reef is my favourite place in Florida - snorkelling with all the fish around you is breathtaking. We love swimming around the lazy river too and feeding the birds. It's a day of luxury and rest for us - an oasis in the middle of a chaotic holiday.
We get there early and still never seem to find time to do everything we want! |

We did dolphin swim. Nice experience, just the once though. Also always do later in Aug holiday for cheaper price...no prob yet...just make sure you do the big things before lunch.
And here’s our biggest tip. DO NOT do breakfast first (as staff advise). Go straight for the beach and bag yourself a lounger with umbrella! Dump your stuff on lounger THEN do breakfast! Else you will miss out on umbrella...not good in Discovery Cove! |

We did DC last week for the 2nd time, we deliberately chose to not swim with the dolphins this time as it previously broke up what was a fabulous day by having to go for the safety talk and line up to get in the dolphin pool.
Last week we arrived at 7:15am as they opened and left when they shut, so relaxing and all inclusive. So had breakfast, dinner, and all the snacks you can eat, wine and beer was domestic but tasted fine. No need to pay for extra premium drinks package.

Dolphin swim was so worth it, we were a family of 8 and it was the best bit of our trip. Yes it's like a conveyor belt but with most people in the park doing the swim they need to be. Get there really early and get your time slot booked in. If you want a shaded area the grand reef is a good spot.

We’ve done it twice and are doing it again this year.
The first time we went it was torrential rain the whole day - never even occurred to us to re-schedule, we had no idea it was even possible. We found out later that it was record breaking rain fall that day. Despite this, or maybe even because of it, it was a brilliant day! The park was really quiet as most people bottled it, we had absolutely ages with the dolphin, got loads of photos and generally just had the best day, we never even really noticed the rain (except on the drive on the way home - white knuckle stuff). It was the highlight of our holiday. Second time was a beautiful day so was obviously much busier and the dolphin encounter was definitely more conveyor like. We had a cabana on that trip which was lovely. It was absolutely a great day but we still prefer the day in the rain. We’re going again this year, doing the dolphin swim, SeaVenture and we have a cabana booked too. We’ve got it booked for near the end of our holiday. Edited at 12:02 PM. |

We went on the 4th July which i think was about as busy as it gets but was still a great day. Didn't do dolphin swim because like others have said, have done it before and so don't think is worth the extra to do it again. Also had a cabana which we do think is worth the extra. Rain came about 4ish and so everybody had to leave the water and doing my best Carol Kirkwood impression we decided the weather wasn't going to improve so we left, happy and still tired. its a great day and can be v good value IF you use the tickets for the other parks.
