I am having the exact same problem

Called numerous call centres and different countries no one can help at all

Only thing I have is a customer service operator has emailed me to say that they forwarded my request to cancel within the allocated time period so I should get a refund but still stuck in limbo!

Running out of ideas

Can't believe what this hurricane has done to everyone's plans

Have you tried that link earlier on in this thread? It should let you modify or cancel. Then email Andy also in this thread and see what quote he can do. I cancelled my old one completely and got a new one with Andy ata really reasonable price.

My brother in law successfully got his refunded over the phone, he managed to get the number for enterprise billing escalation team, they apparently have the access requested to cancel it, it can't be done elsewhere he was informed.

I received email saying Alamo are closing today so bookings would be refunded so I emailed them to ask for my cancellation fee to be reimbursed additionally.

I'm just thankful that the new booking I have has been so much easier.

Thank you for the link, i tried both but it said that i cant do it at this current time and i should contact the call centre, so back to square one.

Only good thing is that i now have an email from Alamo saying i should get a full refund if i cancel, however getting it cancelled is the hardest part !

Yes i have had the same email but still no one has actually cancelled my booking so need to get that sorted first!

Did you get anywhere, I am following up on brother in laws as I'm not convinced his got cancelled, I found another 0800 number for the uk and managed to get them to send a refund request to the us team which should be picked up on Monday.

I've also found people complaining on Facebook, alamo keep pointing you back saying the publishers are booking and you need to speak with them. I can't believe that it is so hard to sort out!

No idea if we'll get the money back but has put me off the brits offer for life!

Well yes and no to be honest, I am in the same boat as you. I have to spoke to numerous people in different countries and they are saying the same as what you have said or just passing me onto someone else.

I have had at least four operatives email different departments promising the cancellation and I have copies of all of them so I just have to wait till Monday to find out if someone in the company knows what to do with the situation. I even spoke to a call centre operative in the US who guaranteed me the money back as she advised it was illegal for them to keep my money and not supply me a car since they have closed the branch in the airport so I couldn't get a car anyway. Also the T&c's say that if they cancel due to hurricanes we get a refund and if I cancel before 24 hours I get my money back. So you thinking ticking three boxes would get my money back.

My only conclusion as to what has happened is that due to the closure of the branch they have cancelled everything and that's why they can't do anything on the system for us but because they must not pass on the information to all their staff no one has a clue so that's why they keep clinging to the 3rd party argument when it's not. I have even got an official email from Alamo to say that I could get a refund due to the hurricane I just need to ask for a cancellation.

However the only good news was that I spoke to Andy from the dibb, who gave me a contact and I emailed them and they have confirmed that a refund will be in my account within 5 working days so I need to wait if he delivers on that problem.. So send him an email and ask him for the contact details. Andy was a life saver for us and I appreciated his help and I will be booking with him in future.

Apart from that did you brother pay on a credit card? As that is my last resort as I can claim a dispute that I didn't recieve my goods and that I am entitled to a refund which the credit card will sort.
