Just my last bit of Evie info for a bit. She's finished year 6 today. If any of you read my previous pre trip report from 2017 you will know that when I started it back in 2016 we were going through the tough process of taking out her school with all her friends to a different school quite far away that although a normal primary school it had a specialist VI unit. This was really tough on her but two years on we know it was the best decision for her. She made lots of new friends(although they live a little further away) and has excelled with her schooling. We are delighted that she did really well on her SATS(an amazing achievement as all her work is Braille which she has learnt the last 2 years) and should be in the higher streams at school. Secondary School is a new challenge but she's going to an excellent school who will push her all the way. Me and Kelly are so proud of her.

I go on about Evie I know but I also want to say Lily is just as special and we are equally proud of her.x

Diet update. Not going going great since I started this pre trip report but I've been really good this week. So I've managed to lose(somehow) about 10lbs since I started. I thought it would be far worse so given me the boost to continue so hopefully I'll keep on track.

I decided on pre purchasing the Universal Dining plan. I'm going to buy three lots for our 3 days so going to buy 1 set every couple of months. I bought the first set last night. It doesn't save you much but it's good if you like to pre pay like I do. It works out about Ł73 for a quick service meal with a drink, snack credit and a drink. I'd think we comfortably spend that for the four of us at the park for the day.

That’s a good idea👍 Think I’ll have a look at prices and menus to see if it’s worth it for us. Remember walking for ages last time trying to find stuff we’d all eat 🙄

Just come across this, we are also going in May and it is my first time planning it and first time on site with FP+ so although I've been a few times before I feel like a total newbie when it comes to planning! Looking forward to seeing how a pro like you does it! Ps We got a good price with Virgin too and got upgraded to Garden View at FQ as there were no standard rooms left.

Thanks for reading

I usually base things on last years park hours but these can change nearer the time which is annoying. You can only do so much until just before 6 months when park hours are released and then adrs. I'd just have a rough plan but will be ready to switch things. I'm making sure that rides like FOP we do later on into our stay as you have more chance of getting a fastpass. Work backwards. Universal is more frustrating as they don't release park hours until much later.

Just though I'd share a little bit of info. Last time we went I got from Gatwick Airport a lanyard for people with hidden disabilities. Evie wore this round her neck so anyone working at Gatwick would be aware that she has a disability that wasn't obvious. You'd only know about Evie if she was using her cane. She really liked having this and made her feel more comfortable when we went through the security checks that the people doing the checks would be aware of her. She asked me the other day if she could have it for next time. I, of course had lost it but a quick email(before I forgot) got me sent another the next day. Really helpful.

If anyone wants more info then click on this link gatwickairport/at-th...-disabilities/
