The remote fobs are extremely expensive so I can see why they now only give one key out. I cannot remember ever getting two. My last Alamo rental was in JUne and I know I only got one key.

Hired a car maybe 35 times in Florida and can never recall getting more than one key. I guess they keep one back for any hirer losing it or locking it inside.

This is so strange as have hired 7 cars in Florida, 8 if you include returning one and I think every time we’ve had two keys. Reason I’m so sure is when we’ve hired cars elsewhere it’s always been nice when I just got one key. I recall one year almost losing one when the metal loop broke (it was in my pocket). This is with Dollar, Budget and Alamo and has been cars I’ve chosen and been allocated.
Very bizarre it seems. Dave

I always use Alamo and like others above it's been a few years since we had 2 keys, definitely only 1 key for at least the last 4/5 years if not longer. In fact 1 year (I think 2014) the key we got was not a remote key although I didn't realise that until I was parking back at the house, otherwise I would have chosen a different car. I suspect in that case the original key had been lost & I had a replacement. It worked fine of course, just the "old fashioned" way, and I spent so much time trying to press a button on key that didn't exist, old habits die hard

We’re here now and have 3 Dodge Caravans from Alamo. One came with a single fob, one came with two fobs and the other with one fob and two keys. There’s consistency for you.

I'm like Mick, I can't recall getting two keys but it's possible I did once as the metal wire I remember. I've hired circa 30 cars in USA. My Edge this year was a keyless entry and start fob. Just one.
