First I would work out realistically how many days entrance you would need to the different parks. MYW could work out cheaper e.g a 7 day MYW base ticket excluding water parks is about £80 cheaper per person than a 14 day ultimate ticket.
Could you do this and add Aquatica instead of the Disney water parks? Then you could get the US/IOA/Aquatica/Seaworld combo at $274. This gives unlimited entry for 14 days to those parks. Would you need 14 days entry to ALL the parks? Personally we have gone for MYW tickets this time as we know we wont be in Disney for more than 4 or 5 days so I think a 7 day ticket is plenty for us. It has also saved us approx £320. It just depends what sort of holiday you have, we are all different and never park hop and have done the Disney water parks to death! So really not bothered but others spend a lot of their holiday in Disney so the Ultimate tickets would work out better value. |

You see, because i haven't been for so long (1992) i don't know realistically how long you need in the parks?
We don't tend to be there all day everyday. Will prob do one then have a day off so i'm guessing 8-10 days of park visits?

It's a complete minefield isn't it? If you only want a total of around 10 days in parks maybe all the 14 day park option tickets would be too much.
Personally I would either concentrate on Disney with a 14 day Ultimate ticket, this will give you 4 parks plus 2 water parks (14 days unlimited access), and then maybe Seaworld and Legoland OR US/IOA. This is how we have done it with kids the last few times and it has worked out well. However now the kids are a bit older they want to spend more time in US/IOA so we have got the 14 day ticket for that, DC non swim (which includes Seaworld and Aquatica) and then a 7 Day MYW ticket for our Disney fix. Don't know if I have helped or made it worse sorry |

I think the best thing to do is do a plan!
If you work out out what parks you want to visit, and building rest days / other activities, this will tell you if you want / need those extra days. You don't have to stick to the plan, but it will help you to decide. Because we wanted to do Universal, Aquatica, Seaworld, Discovery cove, and have rest days, we found the 7 day ticket was too much - there just wan't the time to go back...and even if we wanted to go just for fireworks one evening after say Seaworld, we found it was too tiring to do that (plus paying twice for car parking!). So second year we went for 4 days - did one full day in each park, followed by rest day. That worked really well for us - we rested during busy times in the park and were able to use fast passes and lulls in crowds to our advantage. That saved us £260 over a 14 day pass... so it depends on your plans... all very well having the flexibility of 14 days, but a waste if you can't actually fit in going back! And with Seaworld and Universal being 14 days passes, you can move those around / go back / have half days there. That's just how it worked for us though... |
