Waiting at MCO for a couple of hours

I'm travelling in September once again, 9th trip to FL now & every time i have had an alamo car.

Just thinking this year, what if i wait around for the majority of the cars to be collected, then skip the counter & go to the garage to pick & hope they have run out of standard SUV's & get into a Full size?

or am i talking rubbish?

As Tom says MCO and all the car hire desks are 24/7.

Drivers will be arriving at 1am from NYC and 11.30pm from LA and picking up cars.

The handful of planes arriving from the UK will have absolutely no impact on car choice. There will be hundreds of planes coming in from the USA, central and South America, mainland Europe and the rest of the world.

Don't forget that you can pick up your car from either garage on side A or B. No guarantee which will have the best or widest choice though.

Personally after such a long flight couldn’t be bothered about trying to wait around further in the hope of a free upgrade. Wouldn’t want to risk it either. If we wanted a full size ... we’d book it.

Probably far better looking sad and saying you really wanted a pathfinder and then slip them $20 if they oblige. If it was me though I'd look for an explorer

I’m with you on this one, had an Explorer in Feb (just me and the wife) loved it , am going again next may but with wife son , his partner and 2 grandkids, while the Explorer would seat us all easily, the cases would t fit so had to go full size , am hoping with all the faffing around with fitting cases in I might get upgraded to something bigger 😁

I'm with you, can't hurt to ask as you enter the garage if a particular car is there. Would judge my size of tip on level of effort they go to, to get the car though.
