Question Tickets for 10 year olds?

Hi, I just wanted to ask about buying attraction tickets for Disney etc for my 10 year old! He will turn 10 a week before we go and although he is fairly small I am suppose to buy him an adult ticket for the parks and just wanted to ask if this is necessary for some children?

Thanks Nickie x

Yes you have to buy him an adult ticket. If he has turned 10 before you go then he needs an adult ticket.

it seems silly that you have to pay adult prices when they are still kids, a friend of our suggested us not buying tickets for ds just turned 3! there is no way i'm not buying the tickets and getting stuck paying a fortune at the gate

Yes buy him an adult ticket my son was 10 when we were there and WDW policy is if they turn 10 while they are visiting you can get a childs ticket so as he was 10 after a week we did that . But when we went to US/IOA he had already turned 10 that week so he had an adult ticket. The price difference isn't that different that it is worth the risk and it is the right thing to do .

The tickets are based on the fact that the average 10 year old is able to go on all rides regardless of height restriction

I agree i think 10 is much too young to be charged adult prices, especially if they are small for their age and might not be able to go on some of the rides. They make plenty of money that they could make the age limit higher and the same for 3year olds my youngest was 3 a week after we returned and he wouldnt go on anything if id had to pay £X for him to get in id have felt well ripped off.

Simple Answer - if he is 10 then he needs the adult ticket. last time I checked it was a £20 difference.

and on that note, I'll close the thread.
