Mine also finish at Friday lunchtime after Physics. From what they have said I wouldn’t be surprised if they are all marched off the premises at the end, school can’t wait to get rid of them! Doubt any would be encouraged to stay after the last exam!

That’s Geography paper 3 done and dusted and DS was very happy with that one. He said it was the best of all three papers and he thinks he did very well. Physics tomorrow which is one of his weaker subjects so hoping it goes ok.🤞🏻

DS has failed geography, he’s sure of it. He hasn’t enjoyed the subject at all, no idea why, and so has put in zero effort 🙄. Perhaps he’ll scrape a 4...

It’s so difficult for them when they just don’t enjoy a subject. My DS enjoyed it a lot more last year and was regularly getting 7s in his tests. He hasn’t really enjoyed it this year with a different teacher, he just hasn’t engaged him. So he’s hoping for a 5/6 and I’ll be fine with that.

I have had the same experience with Design and Technology - he had a fantastic teacher and he was achieving good results then they moved that teacher to another struggling school in their academy partnership and the new teacher hasn't gone down to well. My son went from loving it to hating it. She hasn't taught all that she should and there was a real panic within the school about this years results for that subject. My son loves Geography and I am sure that is due to the teacher and it has made my son want to try hard and get a result not just for himself but for his teacher too. If only he could have taught all his subjects

I met his geography teacher at his brother’s parents evening, and she was just so lovely and enthusiastic and engaging. Perhaps if he’d had her for the whole course it would be different, but he had another teacher for the first year who was quite uninspiring. It’s incredible how important the relationship with the teacher is, and the influence it can have.

I also believe that a lot depends on what teacher you get, my daughter has a teacher for Music for the last 2 years and then the other Music teacher had to stand in for her, well my daughter said she learned more in that lesson than a years lesson with her usual teacher
