San Luis Obispo /Pismo airport.

I obviously know that a lot of people like driving the PCH and also that many stop at either Pismo Beach or the Madonna Inn as they are effectively halfway between SFO and LA.. Many do not want to see all of it.

I am currently researching and buying into my next Easter trip and am covering items that I missed last time due to the Mudslide closing the PCH. I never had any intention of driving beyond San Luis Obispo.
I have booked flights in to SFO (3 nights) and will be booking Monterey (2 nights. I have also booked the Madonna Inn (3 nights). I then need to get to Vancouver for my last 3 nights before flying home.

I was resigned to either driving on to LAX or back to SFO (3.5 hrs either way).. and discovered San Luis Obispo regional airport. It is just 5km from the Madonna Inn

You can drop hire cars there. You can fly cheaply from there. It is serviced by larger airlines.
I have now booked S L Obispo to Seattle for £68pp. It flies 1 hour to SFO with a 2 hour layover and then a further 2 hour flight to Seattle, (5 hrs total). I will then be driving on to Vancouver and dumping the car at Vancouver Int. It also serves many other good locations at great prices.

You can cut out LA (I would always seek to cut out LA from a vacation).

It is just a thought for those looking at bespoke, multi centre jaunts. Until last night, it never even occurred to me that S L Obispo had a car park, yet alone a busy, regional airport.
