They might do a few limited showings of the fireworks. Maybe on certain days at certain parks instead of every night at every park... Bit of a happy medium, perhaps? Not that that would do anything to alleviate crowds at those parks on those days... but it might help with overall numbers...

Fireworks testing to take place in Epcot after hours on Wednesday from a tweet I saw last night.
Epcot resort area hotel guests have been advised that they might hear loud noises during the tests. Possibly the first signs of them getting ready to bring fireworks back, possibly nothing.
