They cannot say that flight will go ahead as planned because at the moment, as things stand, it will not.

Yes, but equally they won’t cx for def until they know the strike won’t be called off and they only have to give passengers the 14 days notice to avoid EU compensation.

Exactly but they did not tell the customer that it was not cancelled yet, they said it was going ahead as planned. Quite a difference. Irresponsible even.

I agree but Based on my experiences with BA today Shylock school of finance.

This has nothing to do with customers this is self preservation from BA

If the flight isn't cancelled then by definition its going a head as planned AT THE MOMENT. But as we know things change. BA may for example be able to source enough aircraft and or pilots to operate flights. Until the crews actually walk out BA does not exactly how many crew will report for work. After the first strike days they will have a better understanding on how well supported the strike is by the pilots.

Well as someone who has a flight on the 27th I disagree with that 100%. At the moment that flight wont go ahead. Shoddy by BA to suggest that it will. IMO.

A member of my family had an email from BA to say there return flight from Paphos is cancelled on 08/09. They didn't contact BA due to difficulty in getting through they simply booked an Easyjet.

Now 12 hours later they have had an email saying the previous email was wrong and the flight is still going. Luckily the £1200 tickets were cancelable at the cost of £40.

What are BA up to... they couldn't do any worse.

The cynic in me thinks they told everyone that their flights were cancelled so they were within the 14 days. They've now worked routes out and can say which ones are possible ams which not. How they know how many pilots will strike though is a bit strange as you don't have to let your employer know. If it was me I would be asking BA for the £40 cancellation charge as they sent you an email.

BA fill me with horror, every operational issue seems to become a crisis. Mismanagement at every turn.
