Hello everyone!

Emz, thanks for the update about the dress. Director/Manager sounds less than helpful really but I hope you get somewhere if he just listens to what you were put through!

Hope the rest of you have had a good weekend

I've had a little bit less than an ok one, just feeling literally sick with envy (I mean it, I've never known anything like it before) about my sister. I have decided, if she ever books a Disney break again, I'm going to book one to leave not long after she gets back as I cannot go through this again!

Foodwise, we all know no loss from me and looking back I now understand better why. I'm annoyed not to lose anything but it's just how my body works! But was over Monday, over Friday at sister's, little bit over yesterday (as I always am on a Saturday), 3 gym sessions but 1 was shorter than normal and my 4th didn't work out (Zumba Wii) so looking back, it feels like a week of sacrifice but it wasn't really. Thankfully though an empty diary so really want to get something off this week. Mum's bday meal on Saturday but I'm going to buy just 1 garlic bread instead of the usual 2 and serve it on their plates (and not on mine) and cook my pasta in a separate pot so I can be confident about weights, and tbh I am going to do that every week going forward with pasta bake as it's easier to control/manage.
I know Emz struggles, same as me, with socialising and dieting, it's so hard and I feel like I'll have to become a recluse to get anywhere! But I will, it will happen, it won't by Xmas but it will. I'm just praying for a loss next week or I might just give up!

Right off to spend a cosy night with Matt xx

Morning Ladies,

Hope you all had a great weekend.

I am pleased to report a 3 1/2lb loss this week taking me down to 12 2.5. Almost at the 12 mark then only one more to go to reach my target! I think having a quiet weekend without alcohol has helped me and I cooked for my Dad and Anne yesterday and didn't get a cheese board or cheesecake in lol.

I went for a 35 minute run yesterday, first podcast of a 10k training programme so hopefully I can continue with that, it's hard to fit it all in though now I go to lunch time classes.

This week I am booked on for spinning today, circuits Wed and Boxerfit Thurs and on the reserve list again Tuesday for Pilates (Popular class!).

I have all of our dinenrs planned out until Friday as done a big shop Saturday so all ready for hopefully another good week, only got a curry night Saturday with Scott's work to worry about.

Good luck for all of your weigh ins!

Nat - Great plans to cook your pasta separately and only buy one garlic bread, don't give up though my lovely, you have done so well so far and it is only harder now you are closer to your goal. Hope your cosy night with Matt made you feel a bit better. xxx

Emz that is fantastic! I need to take a leaf out of your book I think!

I lost 1lb...not great but more than I expected! Got a clear diary this week though apart from mum's birthday and the same the week after. No plans (and no money!) to be busy so hopefully I'll get close to the 11s by then.

Gym tonight and Matt is working late so walking too...got aerobics tonight
No plans means gym 4 times this week too which will hopefully help!

Best get back to work x

Emz well done on your loss that's awesome! Keep going like that and you'll be on my heels! Glad you've got all your classes sorted. And well done on the run!

Natalie, well done on the loss I'd be happy with that considering you expected less. Hope you can get focused , I think the pasta thing is a good idea! I love my pasta it's so annoying that is so calorific!

As for me, only 0.5 lbs off for me this week. I'm glad something has shifted because every little helps. I had expected an sts because of the custard creams and the spam bol, so I'm happy with that. All going in the right direction anyways. :-)

Got a busy day at uni as always and then home for fajitas and then Disney store at 7!

Amy 1/2lb is great especially given your treaties. And I am keeping my fingers and toes tightly crossed for you! That discount would be awesome! I would love to work there!

Just had my vegetable soup, had corn flakes for breakfast, and then for dinner, Matt's working late so fishcakes for me with sweetcorn. Nice low cal day. Having a cheeky curly wurly mini now though, just 60 cals.

And like I said, aerobics and walking tonight

Just been to Wilkos and bought lots of fragrance. Our windows are closed now so we like to make it smell a bit nicer. Also got some cotton stitched bunting that says 'Merry Christmas' and a chalk board that says '...sleeps til Christmas!' Cute!

Just had a fitness test at work too, just because we're a health insurance company promoting fitness etc and it said my fitness is so poor I need to see a Doctor! How rude is that! He said are you surprised and I was like, yeah, I go to the gym 4 times per week, I work so so hard and regard myself as very fit. I can run for more than 30 mins, an unfit person couldn't do that, surely! Ridiculous! So that made me mad! But on a brighter note, I'm taller than I thought I was so my BMI is lower! Hoorah!

Ciao x

Well done on all the losses.
Emz that's a fantastic loss. You'll be there in no time.
I haven't been weighing myself so not reporting anthing, although feeling slimmer for not eating bread etc.
Yesterday I did have some wine, but only 1 glass, so not too bad.

Hello everyone

And I am actually not ok. Matt found out last night he had to work late tonight. That meant if I wanted to go to the gym I had to get the bus or walk. I didn't want to get the busy so I walked and it is very windy and rainy so it wasn't nice. I get there, do my workout (which was really hard to work, TOM is really kicking my a**, my body is really tired!), then leave the gym. My Uggs are soaked (carried them), cars drove through puddles to get me so my trousers are soaked, my trainers are not waterproof so my feet are soaked, my umbrella kept turning inside out so I gave up so my hair and jumper and arms are soaked, and all my bags are soaked. All in all, I am soaked. Soaked I tell you! Not happy! Can't see me doing many gym sessions if that's how it's going to be when Matt's at work! Not very nice at all!
So I'm going to get a shower now and have some fishcakes. Grrrrr!

Kim, ring is lovely, you must be really pleased! Hope you enjoyed yesterday!
Liz, glad you're feeling better, are you done with your detox now then?

I'm off to be grumpy now

Oh, and by the way, my sister is at MK today...like that's supposed to make me feel any better! Double grrrrr

Hi girls,

Sorry I haven’t been about, I’ve actually been really sick the last few days and have been out of the land of the living for almost a week now! Thankfully after a week of feeling like someone had destroyed my entire immune system and it was shutting down, I finally started to feel better yesterday afternoon and finally got my voice back.

Today has been okay, I went back to work despite protests from Alex and it was okay but my manager felt it was best I just do til 12 as I was really flagging and my chest was becoming unbearable. Took my gym kit today in vain hope I’d get to the gym but was absolutely talked out of it by collegues, Alex and my best friend who attacked me via email and told me not to go – she even used my Sunday name, so I knew she was serious, In the end I agreed not to go on the proviso that I did a Gunnar when I get home as its low intensity and Alex agreed and I did it and I feel loads better since then! I don’t know if its in my head but seriously it really opened my lungs up if that makes sense. Still coughing though.

Anyway, due to the fact that I’ve been hibernating for a week and I’m still going to Sctoland tomorrow I need to pack! So I can’t be long.

This week, rather unsurprisingly with no exercise, aside from moving from bed to sofa and back again, and with extra cals in cough medicine, I STS, so no surprises there and to be honest I could expect anything more. On a plus note Sainsburys had stopped delivering all the organic oranges to Emz Sainsburys and brought some oop north so I have yummy oranges, which having had normal oranges this week and then tangerines, taste outta this world compared to the chemical ridden stuff. Yum yum.

Emz – well done on your loss, that is superb and I’m soooooooooo proud of you. Use that as your boost and inspiration to carry on. I laugh at your ultimate target, to be honest as you’ll surpass that by a mile I just know it, you are literally going to be a fraction of the girl you were when you started your journey and your health will be incredible if you carry on eating this well and exercising as you are.

Sorry to hear about the idiot at the wedding dress shop, what a tool and its awfully bad service especially as he knows you’ll pass on the word. I think I may be getting to the point of going in the shop and crying, you could always try that? ! Trouble is though when you are so wound up and annoyed its hard to get upset with them as you are steaming. I hope something comes of this in the end and you can move on and forget about this blot. Good stuff that the dress is stiil the one though, it looks lovely on you.

Liz – How’s the detox going? How did Dan’s trip go? I bet you are both glad he’s home. Well done on the one glass of wine! Very impressed! I’m on week 4 now and its getting easier Why are you not weighing in?
Wow, 13 on boxing day? ! yikes! I love stuff like that though, big family dos. We've got a small Christmas day with just us and my parents and I'm doing Xmas lunch and then boxing day its at my parents with my brother and my auntie and kids and gran so that should be nice, especially in the new house. Love Christmas, totally unorganised as usual though!

Natalie – well done on your loss, that is good, especially as you didn’t expect it, those are the best type of losses! I think luckily the exercise is helping burn those excess cals so that’s fab news.
Sorry to hear you are sopping wet, poor you, hate it when cars splash. Can you get a bus? Hopefully it will dry up though, I’d hate for you to miss the gym as I think you need the endorphins!

Sorry to hear about the fitness test. Was it an actual fitness test – i.e. they got you to run on a treadmill until exhaustion and got you stepping and then took readings? Or a health test, i.e. they took your blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, BMI, Body fat, that kind of thing? I know some companies call them different things. The thing is if it’s the latter that’s mainly to do with your nutrition not your exercise, so won’t determine your fitness levels as such. You can be very ‘fit’ in the gym but still have high cholesterol and blood pressure if you eat a lot of poor nutritional foods – i.e. foods that are salty sugary or high in bad fats – and as a result your heart health and inner health could be not as good as it could be and that would help you to understand the bad result but if it was an actual fitness test then I’m not sure why you would get a bad result. Are you going to act upon it? Did they give you some advice? Very cool thing to have though, I wish all offices had that! There would be way less sick I reckon if people were monitored in that way more. I think they are very good thing to have and can be quite useful in avoiding heart problems and issues like diabetes and so on in the future. I know you are peed but it might be handy for you to know. Of course I don't know what they actually tested so it may be a load of rubbish either.

I was the same today with the Gunnar as you were with the Zumba, where I’ve been in the gym, the Gunnar just didn’t come close. The weights were tiny and poor and the reps were low and really didn’t get my heart going, I guess that’s what you found with Zumba class vs Zumba Wii. I still love Gunnar though as its one hell of a fun DVD.
Don’t let your sister going to Orlando bother you, next time you go you’ll be there for your wedding! That waaaaayyyy tops that! Am jealous of her at AKL though, a little piece of my heart is still there!

Kim – Goodness gracious me, can I have your auntie come and be my auntie?! What a tremendously lovely gift! Gosh I bet you didn’t know what to say?! How wonderful.

Ring is very beautiful and super sparkly, think how fab that will look on your big day in your gorgeous gown?! Are you planning to wear the wedding band on top or below your engagement ring? I’ve known the right way round but I wear mine the other way so I just wondered if it’s the other way if that makes sense?

Well done on the loss. Weird to say this after that loss but in regards to your previous post, sorry to hear you are not doing so well on the diet front over all, I can happily kick your butt into gear all you want but I can’t do it for you and so I’m really not sure what more I can say to motivate you as its up to you to get your head in the right frame of mind and I think you hopefully have now following your loss or was that a bonus loss? I wrote a long past last Monday, if you can be fussed to go find it there was a big ‘’motivational speech’’ on that as a few were having on wagon issues and you may find something in there that connects with you. Hopefully you can try and stick with the forum though from now on, when it goes well and bad and we can then help more as it’s going wrong before it gets too catastrophic! I know its hard for you with work but you’ve always worked crazy hours and managed it and I know myself if I go away and come back after any long length of time its impossible to catch up. Its hard dieting that’s for sure, so I do hope you find your overall motivation again soon – use this loss and that gorgeous ring to drive you. Just do it with the gym, go in and join and then go at least 3 times a week whenever you can, it will turn your life around if you stick to it. I read an article the other day that said over 80% of people who join gyms go for a few weeks and then drift off and that’s how these gyms make a lot of money from the shoulda, woulda, coulda’s - its sad to see that so don’t line those fat cats with your hard earned cash and just keep going. If you can try and find a gym like Nat’s that is quite low cost to join and then has loads of free classes so you can use the gym when you feel like it and then free classes when you need that group motivation, that would suit you I think and keep you going. Good luck, here's to a good week!

Amy – Good luck with the interview, which is like now! Hope it goes well, that would be an awesome job – think of this discounts! I had an interview with Disney once but that was to work in Epcot (which I got) so I’m not sure the interview tips I had would have been much use sadly as the roles were a bit different, but I’m sure you’ll do a great job and they’d be mad not to take you. Good luck!
Well done on the loss, it all helps and just think what you can do if you have a binge eating custard cream free week, I bet you didn’t even taste number 6 or 7? Not sure why we do this, I’ve done it too, just eat and eat and get something moreish like biccies particularly, guess its an addiction. We are all recovering foodalholics?!

Right I better go, this suitcase has nothing but a cat packed in it, of her own accord, I may add and will be removed before said trip and Alex is clearly not impressed with me being away so better go and spend some time with the hubby.

Maybe we should do a treadmill challenge when I’m better for those of us with access? I’ll get Mralkel write it – speed, incline, time - and we can integrate it into our own personal workout plans and somehow there will be a competition built in and therefore a winner. And before you think ‘’oh that will be you’’ no, I hate running, yes I do it as its so good for you but honestly I hate it and am not that good at it either due to my foot being twisted so its an open field. Give me a dumbell any day!

Speak to you soon. Have a good week.

Aww Kel sorry to hear you're still not 100%. TBH I was amazed to hear you STS with no activity and extra meds cals so that's great, shows you've got your eating down to a tee!
I think your colleagues and Alex were right, no exercise til you're back to full strength!

Natalie – well done on your loss, that is good, especially as you didn’t expect it, those are the best type of losses! I think luckily the exercise is helping burn those excess cals so that’s fab news.

Thanks for the congrats. Not feeling very deserving but know this week will be a gooden! Had chips with my dinner to make it more substantial after how cold I am etc but still only just over 400 cals, not bad! Got the kettle on for a highlights in a minute when I've done the washing up, can't wait to snuggle in a minute, perfect day for it, shame I had to go out in the first place though! Next weekend, I'm having a pj day on Sunday, whoop!
Glad you feel the same about Gunnar as I did about Zumba, I think I am working so hard at the gym nowadays with the pressure to keep up in class etc. I thought today that I definitely feel firmer. I w/i'd this evening and the scales moved down again which pleased me so if I can keep that up it would be amazing! 11st is my actual 'healthy' BMI weight now with my extra 0.5" on my height so that's good and I'd love to be in the 11s within the next few weeks which with a couple of empty diary weeks is possible! Hoorah!
The fitness test today was part of an all over well being thing, they checked my BP which was normal, obviously my BMI was high (28) and then the 3 minute YMCA step test. Problem is we had to check our own HR/BPM so not very reliable. He said caffeine could have affected it but 1 cup of tea at 8am would have made no difference! I just thought it was ≈≈≈≈, to tell me I'm so unfit I need to go to a Dr! Ridiculous! No wonder people get jaded about what's required of them! I know I'm fit, and to be honest, I may not be the slimmest employee, but I would bet I am actually one of the fittest! Grrrr.

Right, off to snuggle in my corner of my sofa
