Car hire in MIA cruise port

looking at hiring a car from MIA airport and maybe dropping off at AVIS etc MIA cruise port?

what are the shuttles like will we have to wait a while?

any thoughts? tips?

When we were there in the summer there were no shuttles running, so we arranged for an Uber to collect us and take us to the car rental at the airport.

I�ve hired a car from the airport and returning to the airport as it was so much cheaper than dropping off near the cruise port. Will just get an Uber or lyft from the airport to the cruise terminal after I�ve dropped all the passengers off at the terminal first with the luggage.

I believe the only companies that offer shuttles at the port are Alamo, Hertz, Avis and Budget? I think from what I've read, you have to call and request a shuttle from the port, they aren'tjust there? They also seem to take you downtown to smaller branches rather than the airport, where there are more cars? So we've never bothered booking from the port!

It's about $27 dollars to taxi to the airport from the port. Or some cruise lines offer an airport drop off for a charge?

Auto Europe offer car hire bookings from the port, if you wanted to price it up?
