Plush hotels
I may have asked this before, forgive me if I have!
Hoping to go to Orlando next May for my 40th. The idea is to spend about 5 nights in a top hotel and then 2 wks in a villa. Can someone recommend some really nice hotels? Not necessarily Disney, just really nice. We will have an 8yr old with us and can't justify £250 a night... Thanks!

Excited about Disney

im sure there are lots of plush hotels in orlando. My sister thinks the Peabody on international drive is the best one she has stayed in. In fact she flies out again on Mon for another stay there (their third i think). She is off for nearly a month and is doing a split stay holiday in orlando, anna maria island, Ft Lauderdale and back to orlando all in 5* accomodation and she has paid very reasonable prices (less than £100 per night i believe in all places)
Also DSis and i stayed for a week at Portofino Bay, Universal last july which i believe is 5* and that hotel was beautiful (a real treat for me as its the first time i have ever been 5*) |

What about Universal hotels? also have the bonus of FOLP. We have stayed in RPR and are staying in HRH this year.
I think the longer you stay the price comes down

I'm looking forward to staying at the Peabody this year. The main issue I have with the top hotels is the resort fees such as parking, and 'other' stuff but as long as you know about these up front you can factor them into the costs...I booked with Complete Orlando and got it for £75 a night, which is a fab price even with resort fees on top
The Rosen Centre is nice too, but not what I would call 'plush'. They're both in a great location on IDrive |

Disney -how about the GF or Swan & Dolphin? (bit expensive) .
AKL can be a good price and may keep the little one happy. US/IOA , Portofino Bay ? Although RPR has the most interesting pool for a child (IMO) - around $250 > There is in Orlando a Waldorf Astoria ; Hyatt Regency; Reunion Resort -they can work out around the $200-300 Floridays also comes out well around $200 I would go to a site such as Monarch Hotels and do a search to see prices and what you may like Edited at 11:33 AM. |

I love the look of the Bonnet Creek hotels, there is a Waldorf Astoria, and the Wyndham Grand Orlando Bonnet Creek. We found the Wyndham for a good price, but as mentioned above there were parking charges and resort fees, and that put us off.
I loved the look of the bunk bed rooms at the Grand Orlando. |
