Hermes - don’t you just love them!
A few months back I had an issue with a Hermes delivery - but since working at home I have had more faith since our usual local Hermes driver is ok. It appears he has changed. Last week went out to bring my bin in and found a parcel in my garden - no one knocked no note through just left in the garden and it was a small package that easily could’ve gone through the letterbox. Today I got a message saying Hermes will deliver. I heard a noise near my door so I quickly ran down to a parcel which I knew wasn’t mine and the Hermes guy off down the street swinging my RIVER ISLAND bag just about to leave it on a neighbours doorstep! Looked on Twitter and loads of complaints and you can’t really get hold of them either.

I ordered a parcel from Superdry which was being delivered via Hermes. It said it would be delivered last Thursday between 10-2. I forgot about it and yesterday checked to see the status as the same, delivered between 10-2 last Thursday. Tried in vain to get in touch with Hermes but it was impossible, live chat still said it was out for delivery last Thursday! 🤦 Phoned Superdry and they checked their system and the parcel was logged as damaged. On my email it said damaged/lost in transit. £200 of Superdry stuff... 🤔

Our Hermes delivery person is great, she leaves parcels up the side of the house if the car isn't on the drive and always leaves a card. When we've had problems with Hermes it's been the system, rather than the local driver.
I think the bigger issue is that online shoppers look for low cost or free delivery and online businesses use the cheapest delivery service available to maximise their profits (nothing wrong with that). That's then reflected in the service that some of the delivery companies provide. |

Just had an email saying a gift I ordered for my granddaughter is out for delivery. Two hours ago my son sent a picture of her holding the box!

I feel for the delivery drivers, they have so many deliveries to make in one day. Far too many to enable them to do their job properly.
We all expect either free delivery or at a small cost. I would like to see a computerised central one system delivery. Whereby each parcel is delivered by one van for that area. Not loads of vans rushing around. O, that sounds like the old post office! |
