Mobile Curve - verification texts

I received 2 at 03:33 and a few minutes later.
I’ve never even heard of it but it seems to be like Apple Pay (which I do not use)
I can’t work out how to get to the bottom of it? I can’t see any unusual activity on any cards.
Presumably someone has used my details to apply?

Check your credit report first to see if there is anything amiss.

It could just be a spam text. Is there a link they are wanting you to click on? If so don’t. Find a number off their official website and contact them.

Never heard of curve either.🤔

Sounds a bit wierd to me. Could be a complete mistype by somebody, or it could be an issue to be aware of.

First thing I would do is phone my mobile phone contract provider and tell them that you have no intention of swapping your phone to another provider. We had to put a flag on my daughter's phone to do this because someone was trying to access her bank account and she was getting verification texts.

We out an extra layer of protection. Asked them to ask a very specific additional password of anyone phoning to change provider.

I would also make sure that all my passwords on all my banks are secure and not been pwned.
I would probably change them in any event.

All that said, it is probably an honestistype by someone who is no doubt very frustrated that they cannot set curve up !

Great idea to call my phone company. I hadn’t thought about that. Then at least they’re won’t be sending anyone a MAC code

There’s a MasterCard debit card called Curve.

The thing about curve is that you add all your cards to it. Then you can shift transactions around between cards even ones up to 14 days old. So buy something 14 days ago on one card and shift it to another card upto 14 days later. All well and good if all the cards are yours 😊
