Up until last week I'd have said on-site but now they've taken away all the perks I really can't see on-site being viable.

I know it's controversial but the free dining has always worked for us. We'd pay out of pocket for it if need be, but not to be able to get it at all would spoil the holiday as it's an added stress every meal time thinking of the money if paying oop.

Always off-site. However Disney stopped being the focus of the holdiday after 2012 so made more sense to be in a Villa.

We have done a mixture. Stayed onsite once and really enjoyed it. We have stayed twice in a townhouse , once in a villa with family and twice offsite in a hotel, once in Rosen Shingle Creek which is an amazing hotel for the price and once at Hilton Bonnet Creek which was also great.
We have 2 weeks booked for December at Shingle Creek as it was such a great price it was worth the bet.
Ideally we would love to go to the contemporary resort but not until we can get some sort of dining plan and Disney is back to all singing abs dancing. Too much to spend for not the full experience IMO.

We’ve done all options over the years at varying prices from rock bottom motels, up market off site to De Luxe on site. I would choose on site but the current prices and lack of extra perks would put me off now

We always go on a budget, as I would rather go every year than every other. Some years we have really gone cheap, more recently we have gone onsite (partly because I earned a bit more) and partly because it worked out pretty good value for money with free dining. So for me - if they bring this back then yes on site, but if not, no way, would rather have a spacious villa and pool/spa all to myself.

Same here

We are DVC owners but have rented them out at least partially for the last few years but over the the years have done every type of accommodation on and offsite and had a fantastic time every single time

Done with Disney... if we go back , probably not until 2022 and covid a distant nightmare :erm. We will be staying off site, having done onsite many times, I drive if it’s just us a villa if it’s the whole mob. Universal Studios only BUT we are seriously considering the West Coast at the moment. Orlando is, in one way, starting to lose its gloss a little for us, WDW lost its magic for us in 2019, before we ever stayed onsite we had villas

Don't love my family that much I want to cram into a couple of hotel rooms with them!

Love the space of a villa and having our own pool. Much more of a relaxing holiday for us and driving is so easy in the US.

(PS it was finding out about Car on the Drive that made driving so much more attractive! Thank you for that tip, Dibbers!)

I have had so much more fun on our West Coast trips than Orlando
