British Airways' last Boeing 747 leaves Cardiff Airport
Just spotted this on BBC Wales News.
The last BA Jumbo which is at their maintenance facility in Cardiff flies the 3 miles to St Athan later where it will be preserved. bbc/news/uk-wales-55271480 Since the 20th January 1999 these stats were achieved. The aircraft - registration G-BYGC - has flown 45 million miles over 11,049 flights for a total of 91,023 hours. The aircraft will fly around the coastal area before landing at the commercial airfield to begin its retirement.

I flew in a Jumbo to Hong Kong from Heathrow years ago...end of an era..a bit like the Virgin planes and some ships you see being scrapped in Turkey that you have been on.
Progress I suppose. |
