How many hours a week do you work ?

Just wondering what others do ?

You can add any details if you wish of the current /covid position , but was more wondering on a normal level

My contract is 830-530 with an hour for lunch -40 hours
I would say I routinely work 830-630 with 15-30 mins lunch ( just to escape desk )
So based on 30 mins that’s 9.5 hours a day , or 47.5 hours a week
Add to that evening and weekend work - probably another 20-30 a month , so I guess averaging it comes out at about 52-55 hours a week . Salaried so all extra hours are ‘ free’

Personally I think that’s too much . I earn a decent wage , but it’s not that amazing

What do you do ?

I work 8:30-5:30 with an hour lunch (unpaid) and two 15 minute breaks (paid).

I generally always take a half hour lunch and I don’t take my 15 minute breaks. I am salaried, but I do get paid for over time. So every day that I take a 30 minute lunch, I get paid for the other 30 minutes that I did work.

I sometimes do an extra hour in the morning for the full week and again, we do get paid over time for that too.

So I generally work about 42 and a half hours a week.

I retired from a 24/7 job and wanted to do voluntary work then covid hit

Going for being on call 24/7 365 to zero is very hard and I haven’t adjusted yet - then again my dream of travel and voluntary work are on the back burner ready to take off again as soon as . . . . .

I work 37 hours per week, but now do compressed hours of 10 days in 9, so work 74 hours over 2 weeks. I do 7.30 - 4.30pm (with 45 mins unpaid lunch) and take alternate Friday’s as my non working day.

In normal times I work from home 2-3 days a week, and then out for the other days. With travelling (particularly if in London or Leeds) I could easily do 14 hour days. We don’t get overtime, but can take extra time as TOIL.

18.5 now, yes I'm lucky. I did work full time for years and I'm 59 this year, so decided to drop my hours a couple of years ago.

It varies

I am paid sufficiently that it's less about 'have I done my contracted hours' (37.5) and rather 'is the department running well' , 'have deadlines been met' etc.

Generally I would say 40-45 hours per week.

I’m on a salary also. Usually get to work for 7:15 and leave anywhere between 17:30 and 18:00. Try not to do any work at home but not always the case. I only work 4 days a week and try not to do any on my day off (Friday). But I usually do 3 or 4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday. On a bad week, I might do work on both weekend days but try not to.
Edited to add: Rarely have more than 15/20 minutes for lunch.

I work 25 per week, mornings, - but I do stay on if the business needs are such that I'm needed.
I've been asked to work full time but I prefer it like this - I WILL stay but I'm not beholden to to stay every afternoon if it's not too busy.
Best of both worlds - for me and the business I feel (Well, in normal times, it meant I could meet friends for coffee and go shopping )
