I know it's not ideal but your only solution seems to be keep quiet, pause the video, lift your legs so she can hoover under them (got to help out some way!) then when she's finally got it out of her system it's back tot the video.

Or noise cancelling headphones then you don't have to pause or listen to any chuntering she does.

You should ask her to get up in the middle of the night to do the housework, so that you can hopefully sleep through it all. That way, you don’t get disturbed from YouTube and she gets to do her chores safe in the knowledge that you are happy.

PS. When you suggest this to her, maybe you could video the conversation and put it on YouTube?

When I have vacuumed and dusted Mrs MH complains I do a bad job so I can’t win.

Change to TIkTok. Sometimes you don't need the sound on

TBH Mickey your wife is being extremely unreasonable in her behaviour, all you are asking is a little bit of ME time which IMO is not too much to ask, after all it has been proven you are a generous and giving guy but your wife is taking advantage of your kindness

If my dh wanted to vacuum and dust I wouldn’t stop him but you could get some noise cancelling headphones!

Thank you Labboy, it’s reassuring to know that I’m not being unreasonable👍

Simple! Take the fuse out of the plug

Women are not capable of changing a fuse!

Guaranteed peace!

Some women are quite capable of changing a fuse and even know where the spare ones are kept Also if the dyson wasn't working I would expect my DH to fix it for me ! Least he could do if he expected me to hoover and dust after a 8 hour shift.

I think a reasonable compromise would be for you to do the following... get the wife to start her 8 hour shift from 0800 to 1600 (you get a nice lie in after watching some harrowing late night you tube video's ) then, when she has finished cooking tea for you both (and done some sarnies for tomorrows lunch) she can then get on with the dusting etc from 1945 to 2145 whilst you watch a game of footie on the telly/laptop with your noise reduction headphones on, then back on to you tube for a few hours...simples
