Virgin Atlantic flight refund Timeframe

Just for information
Original flight 18th April
Cancelled by VA 30th March
Confirmation of refund email 7th July

This was incorrect short Ł921 for upgrades to Upper Class.
I did highlight this in all communication prior to the refund via refunds.hq@fly.virgin.com and WhatsApp but no response at all since 7th July.

Refund for flights 17th July.
Still short Ł921 so will give it 7 days then going to section 75.

Hopefully this time frame info helps someone!

Original flight 14th August.
Virgin booking but Delta leg cancelled 7th May.
Confirmation refund email 18th July.

Confirmation email only has the flights. Bubble seats for return leg not included.

That's 72 days for me. Don't know if the refunds are now speeding up or I said to them on Monday 13th July if they didn't refund me within 7 days under regulation 261/2004 then I would be taking it further through the small claims court. Could be coincidence or they just needed that little push. Not sure.

Have you received the money back or just the refund confirmation email? Have heard of a few people getting that email but no actual refund as yet. I do hope the refunds will speed up from now on though, still waiting for ours for our cancelled May flight!

Just the confirmation email. Said between 1 and 14 days for money to be returned to me. Fingers crossed.

This is great news for you but I don’t think they have speeded anything up at all, there are a lot of people still waiting for March refunds

Just to add I finally received the outstanding refund on 30th July.
No contact at all from VA but I had also processed a CC charge back a few days earlier to VA CC.

I was waiting for a refund from Virgin from April for an overcharge on the flight rescheduling. Finally came in a couple of weeks ago.
