BA Voucher used against an existing booking?

This might be a daft question but if I accept a voucher for our October trip can that be used against another booking that’s already booked?
I’ve paid a deposit for flights next year and wondered if I could use the voucher to pay the balance?
Didn’t want to accept the voucher and be told it’s to be used for new bookings only. Thanks in advance.

Check the T&C, but my understanding is they have to be for new bookings. When I had our voucher I wanted to use towards a trip already booked, but couldn’t.

I was told if I book for next year as I wasn't going this September if they cancelled it or not. The BA guy said that my September trip would probably be cancelled but he couldn't obviously say for definite and if it was any voucher issued could be used against my new booking.

I used my voucher from my April trip to pay for my nov trip, there was money left over on it and I used the remainder to pay towards my March 21 trip

Can I just ask is that new booking or existing ones you had ? I’m in the same situation I have a booking for October but no voucher offered yet but am planning to my next years flights this week 🤷

I managed to use a voucher yesterday against an existing booking. The exception was that the booking was made AFTER the flight had been cancelled. So my voucher was from May, I booked next May in June with a cash deposit. That voucher was applied to next May's balance.
