btw cancelled the Manchester hotel we had - just not feeling the love with some awful reviews

now in the Marriott and got a day room, 9am to 5pm, family of 5 for £60

good to know

also always call the front desk with questions - 5 in a room, early check in etc cos the call centres reservations just simply do not know and give wrong answers. I call Marriott, got told nonsense, called the hotel direct and girl there explained to res that they could do xy and z and now we are sorted - paying more but happier with a better hotel.

I'm in Devon with a 213 day countdown too! We're flying from Heathrow this time as I hate the Gatwick journey. Heathrow's not a lot better though is it?
