wedding advice!
My son got engaged just before the end of last year and are looking at getting married either this year or early next year! These days there seems to be so much planning needed for a wedding! and have looked at a few places locally but but it is difficult to get an exact costing. They really dont want to spend a fortune on just one day and are looking at possibly getting married abroad. Has anyone any advice on the costing of a wedding abroad. I think they are thinking of maybe Europe somewhere.
Thanks Maureen |

I got married abroad. It was perfect. We got married at Cypress Grove in Orlando. It was really cheap for the actual wedding but it was in 2003! It cost about 600 dollars but obviously we then had to pay for flights/accommodation. Included in the cost of the wedding was the license, wedding officiate, venue, cake and sparkling wine. We paid about 450 dollars for the photos and a video.
After we just went for a meal. It was so easy and stress free. When we got home we had a big party for our friends. |

We got married in Vegas last year. It was so straightforward and stress free. The wedding planner literally did everything for us. It can be as cheap as $300 or as expensive as you want depending on photo packages, flowers, cars etc etc. We had an amazing day (not at all tacky) and went for a meal with 20 friends afterwards at Maggianos. They offered a three course meal package with all inclusive drinks for a very reasonable $80pp.

My two eldest daughters have got married in the last 18 months, both abroad. As father of the bride I can certainly recommend it as there is a lot less stress.
My one daughter got married in Jamaica on the beach and we went for two weeks. My other daughter married in Italy, place called Lake Orta which was idyllic. Both weddings and locations brilliant in their own way |

Previously got married in Italy Sorrento , was relatively inexpensive you can really spend as little or as much as you like , you can arrange everything out there , or if you go with a package they have a rep on site to assist . We ordered the flowers there and booked for a really nice meal afterwards with family who travelled with us . Was lovely and in July so the weather was great . The Mayor even married us which was quite unusual . I think you have to be there 2 days before you can get married . We even walked through the streets after getting married to have photos overlooking the bay and people were wishing us well and clapping .

I'm due to go out to Italy next month to look at venues in Lake Como I have found it a bit overwhelming narrowing everything down but we ruled out anywhere abroad where you can't legally get married.
Ideally I want to get married in Florida but my other half feels it's too far to ask people to go. We haven't ruled it out though! Edited at 08:38 PM. |

We also got married in Vegas . Was about $400 and that was for everything including photographer, limo and flowers. We had 12 people come out with us and then had our wedding meal at Caesars palace which was the best food !
Would not have changed a single thing about it 👍🏻 Edited at 10:25 AM. |

We got married on AMI. Ours was something like $1000 for the ceremony, officiant, site fee, arbor, speaker etc, different chairs (because I hated the ones included!), lanterns and food and drinks for 8 of us.
The food wasn't part of a package but we just paid for the whole bill that night. Plus I spent $240 for 2 of us to have hair and makeup done, $50 on donut holes to make a croquembouche with for the cake and maybe $300 on flowers. Plus I paid for my friend to come with us so she could do our photos. I'd struggled to find someone with the style we like and she offered We thought it was an absolute bargain seeing as the barn we fancied at home was £6000 ...empty! Obvs there's the dress on top 😬 Edited at 08:57 PM. |

My SIL got married in Sorrento, Italy in Aug 2015 and it was relatively inexpensive. As it was abroad they had 20 guests in total which helped keep costs down. Her total wedding all in was £6k. When you think what they could have spent if it had been local it would have been at least double!
