Alamo pay on arrival - disney car care
Those of you that have done this..did you pay when the car was collected or once dropped off? Hearing mixed reviews and ideally want to pay when collect.
Also do disney provide free drop offs to the car centre? |

Sorry, don't know about the payment bit but I suspect it's when it is dropped off.
No Disney transport to the CCC so you will need a Cab, an Uber or the free Alamo minibus you can pre book.

Remember that you need to have funds on that card after you return and pay for the car. This is to cover any toll charges you may have incurred( you should be aware of these) or things such as Moving Violations ( red light violations, not coming to a full stop at junctions etc... cameras are everywhere). My son got one two years ago for moving on a red light . It was $158 plus $15 from Alamo. They send you a link where you can view the photo..
Not that any of these may happen to you, but be aware that charges can happen after return, and you should allow for it. We always use a cc for this reason. |

Pick up and return your National or Alamo rental car at the Car Care Center, located near Magic Kingdom park. Our convenient, complimentary shuttle makes it easy with door-to-door service from your Resort hotel to the Car Care Center. Walt Disney World Resort Guests should inquire at the Concierge or use any Walt Disney World Resort lobby phone to be connected to Alamo Rent-A-Car at the Car It is possible for you to grab a shuttle bus to the local office. Simply give the Disney Car Care office a call on 407-824-3470. Remember this is a free service and pick up are subject to availability. Give them as much notice as possible but its been known for them to collect clients with as little as 1 hour in advance notice. Location Opening Hours: Sun: 06:00 am 05:59 pm Mon-Fri: 06:00 am 07:59 pm Sat: 06:00 am 05:59 pm Alternitive locations available with Alamo are as follows; Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, 407-934-4930 Buena Vista Palace (in the Downtown Disney Hotel Plaza) We are planning on doing the same ☺ Edited at 10:10 AM. |

re: payment
you will pay in USD, so as Mr.Morrow noted, it will fluctuate depending on the exchange rate you should be able to see that estimate while reviewing your reservation on alamo.com (log in with name/last name/reservation # you'll see that with online check in too. when you pick up the car, alamo will just take a swipe of your CC. They will hold the full amount of the rental +20%. Those funds will be unavailable for you to use during the rental period. So if your rental is £300, Alamo will hold $374 + 20% = $450 (at the current exchange rate) if you choose to prepay for fuel, it will be added to the estimated charges ($374 in the above example) and also be subject to the 20% security hold when you drop the car off, Alamo will process the rental amount + additionnal charges like fuel, and charge you for that amount. Whatever they held in excess will be released and you'll be able to use the remaining funds again (it will take a matter of days) re: transportation you can call Alamo from your hotel room to schedule a pick up time (do that at least 24hrs in advance) you can also ask the concierge to do it for you. Alamo has shuttles (blue minibuses) and they'll pick you up in front of the lobby you can also use Uber or a Cab. If you drop the car off at CCC, you can ask for a ride, back to your hotel, or to a theme park Alamo transportation is free. At CCC your car is pre-assigned, you can't choose it like you can at MCO If you want to minimise the "make of car or similar" issue, you can contact the CCC and ask a specific model/make. Ask that it be noted in your rental file. This will be a request only, no guarantee, but it doesn't hurt to try |
