Breakfast at Olivia's Cafe
We will be staying at OKW, on DDP. My current thinking is that because of the convenience (and the fact that the kids are early risers, and might lack the patience to wait for the Disney buses to start at 8am to get us elsewhere), we should probably have breakfast at Olivia's Cafe quite a few times. It doesn't look the most interesting of places to eat, but presumably the food is decent enough?

We've only eaten at Olivia's for dinner and it was a really good meal.
With regards to the buses you'll find they start running much earlier than 8am despite what Disney themselves say. We've caught plenty of 7am buses to get us to early breakfast reservations |

It appears that breakfast here uses a TS credit, for some reason, whereas most other resorts only use up a QS. Not sure I fancy wasting TS credits on a standard, non-character breakfast, even if it is the nearest place to us. :-(

Yes, Olivia's is a TS restaurant, apart from maybe Tusker House/Boma or Crystal Palace, we never use a TS credit for breakfast. OKW has limited QS options for mornings so we tend to have something in the parks.

Makes sense - I'm just not sure my kids can wait until we get to the parks (and personally I wouldn't want to miss out on ride time when the parks are quietest!) - I see there is another eatery at OKW called Good's Food to Go which as far as I can see does some QS stuff at breakfast, from 7.30am.

It only has a small selection of items. We tend to either have some cereal or a pastry in the room beforehand and get to parks for rope drop. There are plenty of items available as snack credits to stave those hunger pains too We also don't waste time sitting down for a brekkie during those precious first few hours. We'll then have an early lunch to avoid the mad rush.

Olivia's is a good b'fast, but wouldn't do more than once, at most!
You can get b'fast things from shop onsite, bread, jams, cereal, milk etc. We ordered groceries to bed delivered the day we arrives though, as cheaper, and topped up from the shop. We also saved drinks (bottle of juice) and puddings to have for b'fast that we couldn't eat on the DDP. Then Good to Go does some nice pastries if needs be. We found having b'fast in room saved a lot of time in mornings (and £ / credits!). We didn't need an extra big meal! |

Olivia,s is lovely for dinner or breakfast we did it a few times especially if we was having a lazy morning and going to the parks for the afternoon and eve then you can just do a snack and counter service later that day, ad you will not want to be up every day early when you may have had a late night
It's good to pace yourself

We sometimes pop to a local supermarket on 1st night/day and get some breakfast food bought to put in fridge. We then eat breakfast in our room before heading to parks. I know some people get groceries delivered which could be another option.

As is typical of the DVC resorts, the back of the shop (opposite the check-in area at OKW) is given over to food and drink with chiller cabinets and even a frozen section. While it's obviously more expensive than a supermarket, if you don't have a car and would otherwise have to get a taxi, it will work out cheaper than going off site for necessary bits and pieces (milk, water, bread - and even wines).
