"Keep crying, and I'll give you something to cry about."

*My mother taught me about the science of OSMOSIS*.

*This should only be sent to the over 60 crowd because the younger ones
would not believe we truly were told these "EXACT"words by our parents.

Passed down from generations, good to see some things are still going strong.
Funny was talking the other day how the bobbys on the street only had to look at you and you were cautious , the fear of a clip round the ear and being dragged home to your parents was enough to keep you out of trouble, how things have changed .

I'm not 60 yet and I heard all of these whilst growing up.

I'm 21 and I've heard most of these things from my mum! Her favourites being 4 and 7!

One I loved. You'd be mithering about something, say like a bike and the response: Bike? I'll give you bike!

Tom... , with 17 there was a belt and a big stick on the top of the cabinet, It did come down from time to time and it never did me any harm in the long term

Mmm. My great Aunt went to Egypt on a holiday in 1962 when I was 7 and brought me back a camel whip. That was used to belt me! I thought it was my present not a torture item.
